Wi-Fi pairing and troubleshooting (Helio T2)
The Helio T2 connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks (WPA2 or WPA3). It does not join 5 GHz-only networks, captive-portal networks, or enterprise networks that need a username.
Pair for the first time
- In the Helio app, tap Add device → Helio T2.
- Hold the T2 dial for 3 seconds. The ring pulses blue, which means it is in pairing mode.
- Choose your 2.4 GHz network and enter the password. Pairing normally finishes within a minute.
Reconnect after changing your router or password
- Hold the dial for 8 seconds until the ring pulses blue.
- In the app, open Devices → Helio T2 → Wi-Fi → Reconnect.
- Pick the new network and enter the password.
Your schedules and settings are kept. Only the Wi-Fi details are replaced.
What the ring colours mean
- Pulsing blue — in pairing mode, waiting for the app.
- Solid amber — connected to Wi-Fi but cannot reach Helio cloud. Usually a DNS or firewall rule on the router.
- Flashing amber — wrong password or the network dropped. Re-run Reconnect.
- Solid white — online and healthy.
If pairing keeps failing
- Make sure your phone is on the same 2.4 GHz network while pairing. Turn off mobile data during setup.
- Mesh routers: temporarily disable "band steering" or create a 2.4 GHz-only guest network, pair, then re-enable.
- Move the router closer for pairing if the T2 is more than two walls away; you can move it back afterwards.
- Factory reset as a last resort: hold the dial for 20 seconds until the ring flashes white three times. This clears schedules.
If the ring stays solid amber for more than 10 minutes after these steps, contact support with your router make and model.
